Brown Bridge Quiet Area
The Brown Bridge Quiet Area is approximately 1300 acres of City-owned property located just a few miles from The Oaks (there are several parking lots and different trail heads, but Trail 4 is just 6 minutes from The Oaks). The Boardman River runs through the property and until the fall of 2012 the Quiet Area was also the site of Brown Bridge Pond.
Ranch Rudolf
Nearby Ranch Rudolf is a great place for horse lovers, kids or even beginners who have never ridden. They also offer canoeing and kayaking trips on the Boardman River.
Camp Greilick aka
Greilick Outdoor Recreation and Education Center
Camp Greilick/GO-REC has a disc golf course, a picnic area, and access to several trails. You can rent canoes and kayaks for a trip on the Boardman River or use on nearby public lakes.
Clinch Park
Located on West Bay in downtown Traverse City, Clinch Park is a great spot for the whole family. It has a splashpad for the kids, sizeable beach with a lifeguard in the summertime, restrooms, and snack bar.
Grace MacDonald Park
Facilities include a baseball field, an all-purpose field (with soccer goals and football uprights), a pickle ball court, tennis courts, basketball courts, a volleyball court and horseshoe pits. It also has a pavilion area with grills and picnic tables, a sledding hill, hiking trails and playground equipment.
